Choral Concert

Come and enjoy a summer’s evening of English choral and orchestral music with Quinborne Choir and Harborne Orchestra at St Faith & St Laurence Church, Harborne, Birmingham B17 8RD.

An English Summer is a classical choir and orchestra concert in Birmingham, featuring music by George DysonGustav Holst and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.

The choir, directed by Nicola Starkie,  will sing Dyson’s Three Songs of Courage, alongside other choral pieces accompanied by organist Darren Hogg and selected works with the Orchestra.

Conducted by John Meadows, Harborne Orchestra will perform Holst’s Moorside Suite and Coleridge-Taylor’s Bamboula.

  • Whether you are an experienced singer or returning after a break, you will find a supportive and enjoyable environment here.
  • We rehearse on Wednesday evenings (7.30–9.30pm) in Harborne.
  • New singers welcome — tenors and basses especially encouraged.
  • You are very welcome to come along and try a few rehearsals before deciding to join.
  • If you choose to become a member, there is a short, informal audition to help place you in the right section.
