Open Choir Rehearsal in Harborne -Tenors and Basses Wanted
Quinborne Choir is holding a friendly New Members’ Night and open choir rehearsal on Wednesday 2 September 2026, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
The rehearsal will take place at Queen Alexandra College in Harborne. The full address and arrival information are given below.
Adults interested in classical choral singing are warmly invited to sing with the choir, meet our Musical Director and existing members, and discover what joining Quinborne Choir involves.
All voice parts are welcome, and we are especially keen to meet new tenors and basses. Experienced singers and people returning to choral singing after a break are equally welcome. There is no commitment to join.
When to arrive
Please arrive anytime from 7.15pm, ahead of the 7.30pm start, so that we can welcome you and you can meet some choir members informally before the rehearsal begins.
There will be our usual refreshment break of approximately 20 minutes halfway through the rehearsal. Tea, coffee and squash will be available.
Toilets are available at the venue.
What to bring
There is no need to bring anything, although you may wish to bring a bottle of water. All the music needed for the evening will be provided.

There is a large car park, and the college is close to bus stops.
On arrival, go to the parking area on the left-hand side. You should see choir members entering the hall through double doors that open directly from the car park.

Choral Concert “An English Summer” took place on Friday 3 July 2026.
This was a summer’s evening of English choral and orchestral music with Quinborne Choir and Harborne Orchestra at St Faith & St Laurence Church, Harborne, Birmingham B17 8RD.
An English Summer – a classical choir and orchestra concert in Birmingham, featuring music by George Dyson, Gustav Holst and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
The choir, directed by Nicola Starkie, sang Dyson’s Three Songs of Courage, alongside other choral pieces accompanied by organist Darren Hogg and selected works with the Orchestra.
